Board Briefs

Landscape work will soon begin on the bern along Highway 55 and adjacent to The Glen Townhomes. Second Nature Landscaping will clear and re-grade the approximately 300 yard long swath of Haddon Hall property. Low growing junipers will be planted and the slope will be covered with pine straw. This project will dramatically improve the appearance of this area of Haddon Hall.
PCS Homes is currently filling in the retention pond between the townhomes and the pool. Although the city of Apex requires that the area be graded for drainage, PCS will level the space as much as possible. They will also seed or sod the area. It is hoped that the project will provide usable green space for Haddon Hall residents. PCS is providing the work free of charge to Haddon Hall Homeowners’ Association.
Residents are reminded that parking is not allowed on the streets of Haddon Hall. The problem is most acute along Haywards Heath in The Glens where many cars are frequently parked along the street and even across the sidewalk. Residents of the townhomes can expect stricter enforcement of the no parking covenant as construction in the area winds down and the landscape improvements are completed.
Proposed Highway 64 Expansion
Posted on Jun 12, 2009 Comments (0)
Many Haddon Hall residents are aware that the North Carolina Department of Transportation is proposing the expansion of Highway 64 with the long term (30 year) goal of upgrading the highway to an expressway from Apex to the US 1/US 64 interchange in Cary.
Some Cary and Apex homeowners' associations are concerned about the impact of such a massive project on their neighborhoods. Haddon Hall’s Board of Directors has been approached to join the effort to fight the project. The Board is interested in hearing the views of our residents.
If you need more information, go the NCDOT webpage for the Highway 64 corridor expansion. NCDOT has also developed a video to illustrate the concept of the expressway and the proposed adjacent “superstreet”.
Please vote on the survey and leave a comment about this proposed project which will surely impact our neighborhood one way or another sometime in the next thirty years.
